with Emilie Amstutz and Karen DeTemple

Jan 26-Feb 1, 2020

at Casa OM, Puerto Morelos, Mexico

mexicoretreat2019-yogaonthebeach1_origJoin Emilie and Karen for a week of yoga, beach, and Mayan rituals in the beautiful Mayan Riviera of Mexico. Rejuvenate and unwind from winter by spending 7 days and 6 nights in paradise. Wake up to sunrise meditations on the beach and deepen your practice with class twice daily.

Just steps from a pristine beach, enjoy all of the amenities of an upscale hotel but in our own private Casa. Rejuvenate in the ocean, lounge by the pool, enjoy delicious and nutritious vegetarian meals on the rooftop, explore a quaint town on the Mayan Riviera. Relax, laugh and recharge… take this time for you to deepen your practice, reconnect, realign and inspire yourself to take your practice and life to another level.

In addition to some serious hang-out time at the Casa, we'll venture out on a catamaran ride and snorkel on the 2nd largest coral reef in the world. Then, discover the natural beauty of swimming in a cenote (pronounced say-no-tay). Cenotes are freshwater swimming holes made of natural carved rock formations located just inland from the ocean. We'll also experience a traditional ritual of a Mayan temazcal (pronounced tay-mas-kal), a super-cleansing ritual that will help usher in a new sense of yourself and connection to your life.

No yoga or meditation experience necessary. All levels welcome.

How do I get there?
Fly in to Cancun airport and we'll have someone pick you up. Casa Om and Puerto Morelos is a quick 30 minutes south of the airport.

When should I get there?
We recommend you arrange your flights to arrive Sunday January 26th between 1-5pm. Departing flights should be arranged between 10am-2pm on Saturday February 1st. Please DO NOT book your flight until you have received confirmation from us that your registration is complete.

What should I bring?
Pack like you're going on a beach vacation--sunscreen, bathing suit, sun hat, sunglasses, water bottle, comfy clothes to move and lounge in, and your favorite journal or book. Yoga props, towels and linens are provided at Casa Om. The mosquitoes only come out for half an hour around sunset but bring some repellent in case.

What are the accommodations like?
CasaOm_RoomsCasa Om has 10 beautiful bedrooms, a spacious and well-equipped yoga room, swimming pool, and a kitchen. Bedrooms are double occupancy, and have either a private bathroom or a bathroom shared between two rooms. The rooms at Casa Om are comfortable and beautifully designed with air conditioning and fans. You'll have access to drinking water, yoga mats, towels, and beach towels.

Shared accommodation rooms have 2 beds to each room. If you are traveling with someone, please let us know so that we can place you together. If you're coming on your own, we will pair you with another solo traveller. The bunk-style room fits 4 guests.

What is the food like?
huevos-rancheros-breakfast_origCasa Om runs a delicious gourmet vegetarian kitchen. Yayo, the chef onsite, never ceases to amaze us with his fresh creations, including daily fresh juices. All dishes are prepared with a healthy yogic lifestyle in mind. Gluten free and vegan meals can be prepared upon request as well. Buffet breakfast will be served every morning after yoga class. We will also have 4 vegetarian dinners at Casa Om. Most people don't get hungry enough for lunch, but if you need a little snack, you can easily walk across the street or a few blocks into town and check out some of our favorite local fresh and healthy fare. One dinner will be on your own to give you a chance to explore the local options.

What else do I need to know?
Mexico is a very cash-based society. You won't be able to use your card everywhere so bring some cash to change into Mexican Pesos. And don't worry...Emilie speaks Spanish.

We'll be sending you more info as the trip gets closer. For now, these are the essentials. We can't wait to see you in Mexico!

Hasta pronto!
Emilie and Karen
